A. Christopher Slauer, Managing General Partner: 

As the founder of J Alexander Realty Group, Ltd., JARG Advisors, Ltd., and J Alexander PMG, LLC., Mr. Slauer and his team are responsible for the sourcing, analyzing, capital formation and underwriting of all of J Alexander's real estate acquisitions. While J Alexander and its affiliates has a team of professionals with areas of expertise, Mr. Slauer stays active in all aspects of the firm’s acquisitions and developments.

Over the last 15 years, Mr. Slauer has gained extensive knowledge in the areas of commercial and residential real estate (with a focus on existing multi-family properties), turnarounds and workouts of small to middle-market companies as well as venture capital. Mr. Slauer has not only gained considerable operational experience over a number of different industries but has successfully raised capital for transactions totaling $1 Billion in market value.

In 1995, Mr. Slauer co-founded and served as Executive Vice President of The Markpoint Company, a turnaround and workout firm focused on mergers and acquisitions of undervalued privately held companies. In 2000, having successfully sold his interest in The Markpoint Company, Mr. Slauer, using the knowledge gained in various turnaround opportunities, co-founded Markpoint Venture Partners, with a focus on early stage equity investments (venture capital). During this time, Mr. Slauer raised equity capital for several partnerships as well as four diversified private equity funds and served on the Board of Directors of six portfolio companies.

In 2002, as a part of his diversity initiative, Mr. Slauer founded Markpoint Realty Group, a commercial real estate investment group. During that time Mr. Slauer not only focused on the sourcing and due diligence of several of the projects but was successful in raising all of the investment capital for every partnership and fund that was formed.

In 2006, in order to capitalize on his real estate experience and to create a singular focus on one asset class, Mr. Slauer successfully sold his ownership in Markpoint Realty Group and its affiliates and founded J Alexander Realty Group, Ltd. Since 2006, Mr. Slauer founded JARG Advisors, Ltd., a multi-family acquisition group and J Alexander PMG, LLC., a property management firm designed to take advantage of Mr. Slauer’s property management experience.

Mr. Slauer received his Bachelor of Science degree, in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University and was a founding member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity chapter at Texas A&M. Mr. Slauer is a member of NTCAR, the North Texas Commercial Association of Real Estate Professionals, TREC, The Real Estate Council, as well as NMHC, the National Multi Housing Council, and is very active in the real estate community. Mr. Slauer, in addition to his involvement in the community, is also involved in youth sports as an assistant coach for his son’s ice hockey teams. He is married to his wife Michele and has three sons: Jacob (11), Joshua (10), and Zachary (8).

Adam T. Tunks, Asset Manager:

Mr. Tunks joined the J Alexander Realty Group team in January 2007. Mr. Tunks' primary responsibilities are to underwrite new investment opportunities, review property due diligence documents, monitor investment performance, provide investment status reports and asset manage multifamily properties.

Before coming on board with J Alexander Realty Group, Mr. Tunks worked as an investment analyst with Northmarq Capital, Inc., a national real estate investment banking firm. During his tenure, he was involved with the underwriting and closing of over $550 million of commercial real estate financings. He has experience in underwriting various types of properties using a variety of financing vehicles.  Adam is a current CCIM candidate.

Mr. Tunks received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial Consulting, a Minor in Mathematics and a Minor in Philosophy from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and Beta Gamma Sigma, the premier liberal arts and business academic honor societies. Adam is an Eagle Scout rank in Boy Scouts, a Quartermaster rank in Sea Scouts, an Ironman, an active triathlete, has a Coast Guard Captain's License and is a Mate of a Sea Scout Ship in the Boy Scouts of America.  He resides with his wife and son in the Dallas area.

Mr. Todd McNeill, Senior Director, Metropolitan Capital Advisors:

Mr. McNeill, Senior Director, joined Metropolitan Capital Advisors (MCA) in 1998. MCA is a firm that specializes as an intermediary, arranging debt and equity capital for commercial real estate transactions on behalf of developers, investors and owners. Mr. McNeill has been involved in over $1.3 billion of structured finance transactions with MCA.

Mr. L.J. Erickson, Partner, Duggan Realty Advisors:

Mr. Erickson is a Partner with Duggan Realty Advisors, a brokerage and consulting firm specializing in planning and implementing real estate solutions for its clients. Mr. Erickson's focus is primarily tenant representation, but he is actively involved in acquisition, divestiture and leasing of select properties. He has over 8 years experience as a commercial real estate professional.

Mr. Luke Nolan, Vice President, Capital One Bank:

Mr. Nolan is a Vice President with Capital One in Dallas, Texas. Throughout his 18 years of commercial real estate lending experience, he has been involved in over $1.7 billion of commercial real estate transactions.

Mr. Tim Hughes, Founder & Principal of Falcon Realty Advisors:

Tim Hughes is a commercial real estate professional with more than 20 years of experience developing and implementing real estate strategies for a variety of retail clients. He has served as a team member and key leader in retail tenant representation, land brokerage and surplus portfolio dispositions. Tim was a principal with the Shopping Center Group, retail real estate specialists with offices throughout the southeast United States, and was a Top Producer with United Commercial Realty and The Weitzman Group.

Recent clients include Wal-Mart, PETCO, Home Depot, Elephant Bar & Restaurant, Circuit City, Albertsons, Kroger, Drug Emporium, Tweeter Home Entertainment, EXPO Design Center, Whole Foods, Books A Million, Applebee's, California Pizza Kitchen, Minyard Food Stores, Golf Galaxy, and Brinker International.

Mr. Donald Sliverman, Founder & Managing Principal of Margaux Development Company: 

As Managing Principal for Margaux Development Company and affiliates, Donald Silverman has directed all investment and new development activities for the Company since 1990. In this capacity, he has orchestrated the development and acquisition of retail shopping centers, mixed-use development, multi-family projects and single-family subdivisions.

In addition to identifying each opportunity, he has negotiated the terms of purchase and development for each new project. The aggregate value of Silverman's real property transactions is in excess of $900,000,000.

For the past sixteen years, Mr. Silverman has focused on retail development in the state of Texas, primarily in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Silverman has been responsible for comprehensive development activities in conjunction with community, strip shopping centers and regional power centers as well as larger master planned mixed use developments which include retail, multi-family and hospitality components. As the Southwest Development Partner, while affiliated with the Midland Group, Quadrant Properties, and the Woodmont Companies, and as a consultant for Regency Centers, he was the Principal in charge of the development of a number of retail projects. For many years he has been the most prolific developer of Kroger anchored centers in the DFW market. During this period, Silverman has developed and redeveloped eleven Kroger Signature store anchored-shopping centers.

Prior to establishing Margaux Texas Ventures, Inc., Mr. Silverman held senior positions with other companies, including: as the principal operating officer for a real estate merchant banking firm, KALS Realty Holdings, which successfully acquired apartment and retail income producing properties as well as mortgages and bonds backed by apartment properties, which were ultimately converted to fee ownership; as a senior officer with Metropolitan Structures, Chicago, Illinois, where he was responsible for acquisition of distressed properties and RTC assets focused on office buildings; as Senior Vice President for VMS Realty Partners in Chicago, Illinois, where he was charged with new product development, due diligence and compliance and marketing; and, Consolidated Capital Companies, Emeryville, California where he serviced as a Senior Securities attorney and was responsible for financial and tax structuring of new investments as well as acquiring opportunistic apartment complexes for the companies private placement group.

A Boston University School of Law Graduate Tax Program graduate, Silverman also has a J.D. degree from the New England School of Law, an M.B.A. from Boston College and a B.A. from Boston University. He has Bar Admissions in the states of Massachusetts, Florida and California. Silverman is a licensed real estate broker in the states of Texas and Massachusetts.

In addition to being published in the RESSI Review and The Real Estate Syndicator, Mr. Silverman received the Dallas Business Journal, "Best New Retail Development of the Year" award in 1996.
